Decrease bloating - all you need to know

Bloating is a situation when your stomach feels too full and heavy after eating. It is generally because of the gas production or certain disturbances in the muscles of your digestive track. It can cause severe discomfort to you and you can feel stuffed even when your stomach is empty. Bloating is also the same as water retention. Both terms are used by people for referring to bloating. It is a very common problem and it is very easy to decrease bloating. It sometimes can refer to serious medical problems but is generally not that serious.

Here are some of the ways to decrease bloating

  • Try to avoid eating too much at a time

Having big meals when you have the problem of bloating can simply fuel the situation. It might also be the case that you are not suffering from bloating; you are just eating too much at a time. Along with eating a little less, you need to chew your food very properly. If you don’t, the un-chewed food particles can cause the problem of bloating and can cause severe discomfort after a certain time.

  • Find out the food allergies and intolerances that your body suffers from

It might be the case that you are eating something that is unacceptable by your body in several different ways. You might be lactose or fructose intolerant and you don’t know it. There are so many allergies that may cause gas production and lead to bloating. It is very important to find out about all the allergies and intolerances that you and your body have.

  • Try and avoid swallowing air

It might happen that in a hurry or in fun, you take a straw in your mouth and suck air. That might cause bloating later on. Even chewing a gum can cause unwanted air to enter your digestive track and cause problems later.

  • Try to avoid sugar alcohols

Sugar alcohols are usually found in chewing gums and can cause disturbances in your digestive track. Your large intestine produces gas after consuming the sugar alcohols. Alcohols like xylitol, sorbitol and mannitol are also capable of causing digestive track issues.
